I.S. - Archival Copy Submission
I.S. - Archival Copy Submission
What needs submitted to the Registrar's Office?
- Two hard copies of the I.S.
- Two additional copies of the I.S. cover page only (loose, not bound)
- An electronic copy of the I.S. (e.g., CD, DVD, Flash drive)
Why are we submitting an electronic copy?
For several years the Libraries have collected copies of Independent Study Theses for archival purposes. Going forward, we will be archiving these digitally.
What formats are accepted? Where do I Submit it?
You may submit your document as a PDF or a Microsoft Word file. You may bring the file copied on a CD/DVD to the Registrar; or submit it at: https://selectsurvey.wooster/TakeSurvey.aspx?SurveyID=82ML472. If your file(s) are larger than 35 MB, you will need to submit it on CD/DVD.
How should I label my I.S.?
For archival purposes, it is important to label your IS clearly. If you are submitting your IS on a CD, print your first and last name directly on the CD/DVD along with your graduation year.
If you are submitting via the online submission form, rename your file beginning with:
- graduation year
- last name
- first name (if applicable)
- part number (if submitting multiple files)
Use an underscore instead of spaces and an appropriate file extension (.pdf for PDF files and .doc for Word files--e.g., 2011smith_john.pdf)
What if my I.S. contains more than one file?
If you cannot combine your IS into one file, burn all of the files to a CD/DVD and label the disc clearly. The online submission form can accommodate up to 6 files. No one file should be larger than 35 MB in size. If your IS contains multimedia, as in a film studies IS, submit either a CD or DVD labeled appropriately.
