Planning Your Sophomore Year
Planning Your Sophomore Year
During your sophomore year you will need to anchor yourself in an academic discipline, while continuing to explore and develop other interests. Here are some effective ways to make the most of your sophomore year:
Your Academic Work
- Take stock of discoveries and formative experiences that marked your first year and think about how they are shaping your plans for your sophomore year and beyond.
- Attend Sophomore Retreat to gain new insights into your strengths, passions, and goals, and to discover the Wooster community in new ways.
- Continue to develop relationships with faculty and other students in your intended major(s). Take steps to join these communities by participating in academic co-curricular activities.
- If you haven’t already done so, develop and refine your longer-term academic plan in consultation with your advisor.
Personal and Professional Development
The Wooster Community and Beyond
- Are you planning to make off-campus study a core component of your Wooster education? During the fall semester, formalize your plans in consultation with the Office of Off-Campus Studies and your academic advisor.
- Consider deepening your roots in the Wooster community, and giving back, by pursuing volunteering opportunities.
