Academic Support
Academic Support
The Learning Center offers individualized sessions for any College of Wooster student seeking assistance with study strategies and/or organizational and time management issues. In these sessions, adult consultants work with students to maximize their full academic potential at each stage of the undergraduate experience. The Learning Center staff assists students in linking their academic achievement to the whole college experience.
Sessions at the Learning Center are designed to accommodate the individual needs of each student. Many sessions focus on academic skills such as study strategies, reading of texts, note taking, writing organization, test-taking, and time management. The Learning Center works with students on general academic management. Specific subject tutoring is often available in academic departments and students should check with their professors or department chairs for lists of peer tutors.
Most students face an academic challenge at some point in their college experience. Those who seek early assistance avoid the possibility of becoming overwhelmed as academic demands build throughout the semester. Students are encouraged to seek assistance before those demands become overwhelming, and the Learning Center is a resource at the College that offers students appropriate support.
