Grants
Several types of need-based grants are available to our students that do not have to be repaid.
Wooster Need-based Grants
Students demonstrating financial need may be offered institutional grant aid ini addition to grants from other sources. The major portion of grant-aid received by Wooster students comes from the College itself.
Federal Need-based Grants
Pell Grants
Federal Pell Grants are awarded to undergraduate students who demonstrate high financial need according to a federal eligibility formula. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the Pell Grant application.
Depending on their academic criteria, Pell recipients at Wooster may also qualify for the Academic Competitiveness Grant ($750 to first-years and $1,300 to sophomores) and the National SMART Grant ($4,000 for juniors and seniors majoring in certain disciplines).
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants
Wooster receives and awards Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants to those who qualify on the basis of extreme need.
State of Ohio Grants
