Are prospective students able to spend the night on campus with a student host?
During an overnight, a prospective student will be paired with a current College of Wooster student. We try to match students with similar interests. The visiting student will usually meet their Overnight Host at 5:00 p.m. at the Lowry Student Center. From there the night will vary from visit to visit. Overnight visits are offered on Thursday evenings in the fall and Sunday and Thursday evenings in the spring, while classes are in session. What do I need to bring for an overnight?
Students spending the night share a room with their host and their roommate(s) and are provided meal tickets to be used during their stay. Students will need a sleeping bag, pillow, towel, toiletries, clothing appropriate for the weather, homework or a good book.

After I visited, I forgot to get an excuse slip for my High School. What do I do?
Send an e-mail to Campus Visits and provide your name, the date which you visit, and a fax number for your school's attendance office.
Applying for Admission
Which application is best for me?
The Admissions office has no preference between the Common Application and the Wooster Select App. When comparing the two applications, the Wooster Select App has fewer requirements for completion. The Common Application is accepted at many Colleges and Universities and must only be completed once for each college or university, whereas the Wooster Select App is accepted only at The College of Wooster. A prospective student only needs to complete one application.
What’s the difference between Early Decision, Early Action/Regular Decision?
All of these applications have different deadlines, including Early Decision, Early Action and Regular Decision.
We encourage students to contact their Admissions Officer if they are unsure which avenue is best for them.
Does Wooster offer application fee waivers for any students?
Yes, all students who apply online receive an application fee waiver. Students who need to apply using a paper application and have financial hardship with the $40 application fee can have their guidance counselor submit an official College Board fee waiver or a letter requesting a fee waiver on their behalf.
My test scores are on my transcript. Can you consider those as official?
Yes, test scores that come from the testing service or are listed on your official high school transcript are acceptable. We cannot accept student reported scores as official.
Can my counselor fax you the necessary forms and recommendations?
Yes, we will accept faxes to 330-263-2621.
I re-took the ACT or SAT and scored higher. Will you consider these new test scores?
Yes, please do notify us if you receive higher test scores. We will need an official report either from the testing service or your school, but higher test scores could possibly result in an increase in merit-based aid in some cases.
Admissions Notification
When and how will I receive a decision?
All students will be notified of their admission via the admissions portal and US mail. The notification timeline is different depending on the completed application submitted.
International applicants will be notified within a reasonable timeline after completion of application requirements.
When do I have to let Admissions know about my decision?
Early Decision applicants must submit their $350 deposit postmarked by January 1. Early Action and Regular Decision applicants have until the national decision date of May 1 (postmark date) to send their $350 deposit check. The checks should be made out to the College of Wooster and mailed to:
