Electronics for Scientists

Research Overview

My research is generally in the broad area of optoelectronics. Specifically, we are currently working on using the atomic force microscope (AFM) and the scanning tunneling microscope (STM) to characterize self-assembled InAs or InGaAs quantum dots grown on GaAs. We have also set up a cavity ring-down system to probe the properties of semiconductor mirrors known as distributed Bragg reflectors (DBRs).
