New Student Orientation

Welcome Class of 2013! We have a great orientation program planned for you. Opening day of Orientation has a full slate of activities for all new students and parents. Information for parents regarding Orientation as well as the parents’ orientation schedule for August 19 is available in the Parents' Guide. Parents and family members should plan to depart campus at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The New Student Orientation is required of all new students (first-year and transfers). The activities and programs included in the 5-day Orientation will help you become better acclimated with the campus and establish friendships with other new students. Students will receive an Orientation brochure at Check-in on Wednesday, August 19. All students must check-in between 7:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
While there are many academic programs in which you will participate, the placement exams and course registration are the most significant. Academic advisors will provide additional key information.
All incoming first-year students are required, transfer students are encouraged, to participate in the service project on Saturday morning, August 22. Individual service project information will be provided at Check-In on Wednesday, August 19.
"Woo Idol" will be a part of Orientation for the seventh straight year. All first-year and transfer students are invited to participate by performing a three to five minute act on Saturday, August 22 beginning at 9:45 p.m. A piano, microphones, and a stage area will be available for you. Keep in mind that our technical resources are limited and the acts must be appropriate. If you are interested in presenting your talent, fill out the Woo Idol form.
Join other members of the Class of 2013 for student-led walks to Downtown Wooster on Saturday afternoon. Preview the 13 Downtown Wooster sites (for the Class of 2013) which were identified by College of Wooster students as their favorite spots in town.
