Biology Club
Biology Club
Beta Beta Beta (Tri-Beta) is a nationally recognized biology honors club. Membership requires certain academic standards established by the board. However, biology club is an organization that anyone can join. All that is required is an appreciation for the biological sciences. While the group holds many on campus activities, there are many off campus activities offered as well. We have an annual canoe trip, a zoo trip, and trip to COSI science museum to name a few. We are always open to newcomers!

2010 - 2011: Year in Review
The 2010-11 year was as educational and entertaining as ever for the members of Tri-Beta/Biology Club. The club was able to organize parties and participate in a science day outreach for the Wooster community for the second year running. The Xi Nu chapter was led by its officers: President Laszlo Marcze, Vice President Tyler Croxall, Treasurer Stephen Ferguson, Secretary Madeline Naylor, and Historian Abby Jensen.
Due to scheduling mishaps and inclement weather the traditional field trips were absent, but regular club meetings were always mixed with a fun activity and treats. A joint Halloween party with the Chemistry Club in the Mateer Connecter was a big hit, with a Tri-Beta member taking the top two spots in the costume contest. The officers also participated in the college's Science Day where the surrounding Wooster community is invited to campus to attend presentations and displays of each scientific discipline. Izzy made a field trip to Taylor Hall to attend the festivities and stole the show, earning a mention in the Wooster Daily Record. Tri-Beta also invited guest lecturer Dr. Anita Stone to give a presentation on her research with squirrel monkeys in Brazil. The member base of Tri-Beta Xi Nu chapter grew dramatically during inductions, providing a large base to draw from in the coming year.
With the graduation of four officers, newly elected for 2011-12 are: President Stephen Ferguson, Vice President Kelsie Herring, Treasurer Stephanie Andrus, Secretary Emily Lanzola, and Historian Erin Behn.
Thanks to Dr. Loveless for acting as our advisor and helping with ideas and logistics from time to time. Thanks also to Dr. Lynn and Dr. Sirot who have agreed to co-advise during 2011-12. We are excited for the oncoming year and hope to continue Tri-Beta's reputation of excellence.
