As chief of staff, provides primary administrative and managerial support to the president, including tracking and management of presidential initiatives, projects, and budgets, and oversight of the Office of the President's staff. As secretary of the college, coordinates meetings of the Board of Trustees and its committees, manages and communicates information and materials to board members, and manages board records.

Prior to joining Wooster in 2010, Johnston held administrative positions at Michigan State University, Michigan Tech University, and St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y. She earned a bachelor's degree in management from The Pennsylvania State University.
