Independent Study at The College of Wooster forced me to acquire the organization, critical thinking, and problem solving skills required to develop and manage projects. At ABSMaterials I develop water treatment systems for the oil and gas industry. Organization is the cornerstone of my role amongst my team. The Chemistry Department at the College provided my solid foundation of chemical knowledge, scientific writing, planning, and safety habits. These are applicable every day in my career. I am converting this strong chemical knowledge into a daily, and practical system solving a complex environmental challenge; managing oil and gas waters. Wooster provided the mindset, the skillset and organizational basics I need daily. I love science and the environment. I love complex problems. I love solving engineering challenges every day. By joining ABSMaterials, I have gained the opportunity to combine these loves and positively impact the environment. I am working daily on the small details, and multi-ton tanks needed to clean up highly contaminated waters. Organization. Capacity. Chemistry. I will use them to continue to grow in this career.
