Major at Wooster: English
Learning to think beyond the face value of any idea or situation and then communicate that to others was a skill that Wooster implanted in me and has taken me farther than anything. Wooster granted me the opportunity to present myself as a leader in several different capacities and this has been essential in life after Wooster.
Before graduation I secured a position with the non-profit City Year as an Americorps member mentoring at-risk youth. While there I was selected as a City Year Ambassador to work with a development team to improve donor and community relations, and also served as a project manager for our training retreat. My Senior I.S. at Wooster was a creative writing project so it was a natural fit for me to author and edit blog posts for the Seattle/King County City Year site. While working for City Year I developed a great interest for corporate social responsibility and how businesses and foundations conduct themselves. I plan to work in PR or community relations for a corporate leader for several years before returning to school for either an MBA, MPA or Masters in non-profit management.
