Research Analyst, Alexandria Economic Development Partnership
Alexandria, Virginia
Major at Wooster: Sociology and French
In my time at Wooster, I gained practical skills like writing, research, and organization, as well as a drive to engage myself in the community around me. The independent study program prepared me well for my current position as a Research Analyst. I am able to handle overlapping responsibilities, and I am very confident in my research skills. As a Sociology major, I also feel that I have an open-minded perspective to contribute to the field of economic development. On a more personal level, I will always be thankful for the lasting relationships that I developed with my peers and professors; they have given me a solid support system for my post-grad experience in Washington, D.C. I drew on my experience with Wooster’s Student Advocates for Diversity (SAFD) by helping plan a fundraiser in DC that took place in June 2011 for “Loving Day. "In addition to celebrating diversity, we also raised money for MetroTeen AIDS, which supports HIV positive youth in the DC area.
