Major at Wooster: Political Science
At Wooster, through my interaction with a very diverse student body I learned how to deal with many different kinds of people. This greatly helped my problem solving ability, and made it much easier for me to work in group settings. IS taught me the importance of organization, mentorship, and most of all perseverance. My on campus job at Career Services was very beneficial in understanding the job market, contemplating my future plans, and figuring out what I want to do with my life. There is an endless number of people, and mentors at Wooster, who care about what you do and where you end up in the future. This was the best part about my experience, and to this day I am in touch with my advisors, professors, and bosses- taking their advice about all the decisions I make today. I am enrolled in the PhD Political Science program at American University, starting from fall 2012. After graduating from Wooster, I worked for a WHO project in Pakistan, and used my time to apply to graduate schools. I had to decide between a Masters at Johns Hopkins, or a PhD from American, and chose the latter. In the future, I would like to be a professor, at the university level. Then, I could motivate my students the way professors at Wooster motivated me.
