Purpose and Responsibilities of the Assessment Committee

The committee facilitates outcomes-based assessment of student learning and development in order to enhance the educational program of the College. Responsible for providing a forum for discussion of assessment issues as well as for recommendation of assessment practices to support a culture of student learning and development, from which will naturally arise a culture of assessment that is faculty-driven and institutionally supported.

Committee Membership

Nine. Three faculty members. Two students from different divisions, appointed by the Student Government Association. Two academic affairs/support staff from different departments/programs, appointed by the Provost. Director of Educational Assessment (ex officio) and Associate Vice President for Institutional Research, Assessment, and Planning (ex officio). The chair shall be one of the three faculty members.
