Internships and Mentorships
Internships and Mentorships
The Center for Entrepreneurship (C4E) is presently offering three categories of internship opportunities for summer 2012. Students who are keen to allocate a significant part of their summer to polish their entrepreneurial skills should apply. Internships will receive financial support from C4E based on the requirements and needs of successful applicants.
All successful applicants will incorporate significant entrepreneurial learning within their experience and will be required to submit mid-internship and summary reports within 30 days of the internship conclusion. Deadline for submission for all 2012 Internship Applications is March 19.
C4E Summer Internship
C4E Summer Internship allows the student to apply for established C4E internships with partner businesses, e.g., Thirsty Dog, The Cleveland Botanical Gardens, and ABS Materials. To participate, students must review the posted position description on the list and submit the information required on the application form plus provide a cover letter, resume, and 2 references. Viable candidates will be interviewed for the positions by COW faculty and, if applicable, representatives from the internship organization. Students in Class of 2013, 2014 or 2015 may apply.
"Create Your Own" Internship
"Create Your Own" Internship allows students to be the architects of their internship experience. This initiative requires the student to research and identify an internship with an entrepreneurial-focus and academic advisor based on student's desire to pursue their professional, entrepreneurial passions. To participate, students must submit the information required in the application form along with a detailed proposal identifying the "host" business and the entrepreneurial skills to be gained through the internship. Entries will be judged based on educational potential, community need, logistical feasibility, social responsibility, and passion/creativity. Winning internships will receive up to $3,000 to support the internship. Students in Class of 2013, 2014, or 2015 may apply.
"Start Your Business" Internship
"Start Your Business" Internship is a partnership with C4E and College of Wooster's AMRE Program that allows students to allocate time and energy combined with C4E's financial support to undertake the difficult but exciting journey of launching a business. The summer internship will help students ascertain the logistical and financial feasibility of their business idea. C4E will partner students with faculty members and the AMRE Program to facilitate the research process relevant to starting a new business. C4E will facilitate this by matching faculty members to work with students by setting timed targets for the execution of the business idea. Students will be expected to follow the deadlines assigned. To participate, students must submit the information required in the application form along with a business proposal describing the new business opportunity. Application can be made on an individual or partnership basis by students in Class of, 2013, 2014 or 2015.
