Who We Are
Community Greenhouse Partners is a organization which seeks to improve the quality of life for its community by growing vegetables year-round and selling them at low cost to area residents, employing local residents, and teaching sustainability and earth science to young people. CGP will also act as an aggregator of crops from area community gardens to sell to area retailers, providing a vital link in the Farm-to-Table movement.
Responsibilities
Monitoring plant progress, monitoring environmental conditions, monitoring for pests and disease, seeding, planting, harvesting (on and off the property), developing and implementing watering and feeding routines, compost maintenance, deploying integrated pest management (IPM) solutions, building structures within greenhouses, site maintenance (snow shoveling, grass cutting, etc.), organizing product for market, developing descriptions of products, pricing products, selling at market, teaching skills at workshops, learning and speaking about the mission of the non-profit, learning and speaking about his or her role within the organization, effectively communicating with neighbors, participating in community and business charrettes, participating in community events.
