Who We Are
J.A. Johnson, MD, MPH, College of Wooster class of 1965, has created a software program for use in Occupational Medicine. This software is being donated to the College in honor and memory of his professors.
Objective
In order to facilitate the development of the software for potential marketing purposes, a Software Management Intern will be working to prepare the software for marketing and use. The purpose of this internship will be to refine the existing program, add additional platforms as needed, and begin trial use of the program. The donor will be available to familiarize the intern with the business context, the program itself, and recommended additional platforms.
Responsibilities
The intern will need to become familiar with medical billing and coding. This will require the intern to communicate with the author of the software and to initiate a trial of the software at a regional medical facility that is actively involved in providing Occupational Medicine services to area manufacturing and service industry. The intern will work with the College to formulate means of presenting the software to the medical facility as a mutually beneficial cooperative community effort. If a successful trial is done, the intern will be instrumental in working with the College to market the software to vendors and users of electronic medical records used in Occupational Medicine.
