Students working together in the Writing Center

Writing Center

What We Do

The purpose of the Writing Center at the College of Wooster is to help students develop their reading and writing skills by encouraging them to think critically about the processes involved in both. Staffed by experienced professionals and trained peer tutors, the Center is a free resource for all Wooster students who seek assistance in planning, drafting, and revising their written work.

The Writing Center is located on the first floor of the Andrews Library and is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, and 6 to 9 p.m. on Sunday.  Students can make an appointment by calling us at (330) 263-2205 or clicking on the link below.  We welcome students to visit us at any time, and are happy to take drop-in appointments if there are tutors available.  However, due to the high demand for Writing Center sessions, we strongly recommend that students make appointments in advance if they are able.

New Wait-list Feature

If there are no available appointments that fit into your schedule, you can now sign up for a waiting list on the Writing Center Online site. The Writing Center offers 30-minute appointments and hour-long appointments. These sessions are offered on different schedules.
