  • He is a founding member of the Department of Africana Studies at The College of Wooster, where he has been a member of the faculty since 2000.
  • Peterson's areas of expertise include Africana Philosophy (socio-political theory), Afri-Marxist Philosophy, Africana Intellectual History, Africana History, African-American Literature, and cultural studies.
  • He has taught in Temple University's Department of African American Studies and worked as an instructor at Florida International University's African New World Studies Program.
