A major in Africana Studies makes graduates attractive to graduate schools, companies, and other institutions thatĀ focus on diversity. It can lead to or support careers in a variety of areas, including law, education, public policy, and business. For example,
- Erika Davis '08, a double major in Africana Studies/Psychology worked during 2008-2009 in California for the non-profit program Teach for America
- Samathryn Witham '06, A Black Studies/Africana Studies major, taught at the Noble Academy in Cleveland and is pursuing graduate programs in Africana Studies
- Dan Turner '94, a Black Studies major, pursued the M.A. degree in African-American Studies at Temple University before completing a law degree at Howard University
