Studio Art Major/Minor

Major Requirements

Consists of eleven courses:

  • One course from either Introduction to Art History: Prehistoric-Medieval, or Introduction to Art History: Renaissance-Present
  • Introduction to Drawing
  • One course from the following: Introduction to Three-Dimensional Design, Introduction to Sculpture, or Introduction to Ceramics
  • One elective introductory (100 level) studio art course
  • Intermediate Drawing
  • Two elective studio art courses at the intermediate (200) or advanced (300) level
  • One from the following art history courses: Gender in Twentieth-Century Art, Modern Art, or Contemporary Art
  • Junior Independent Study
  • Senior Independent Study (two semesters)

Minor Requirements

Consists of six courses:

  • Introduction to Drawing
  • One course from the following: Introduction to Three-Dimensional Design, Introduction to Sculpture, or Introduction to Ceramics
  • One elective introductory (100-level) studio art course
  • One course from the following: Introduction to Art History: Prehistory-Medieval, Introduction to Art History: Renaissance-Present, Gender in Twentieth-Century Art, Modern Art, or Contemporary Art
  • Two elective studio art courses at the intermediate (200) or advanced (300) level
