Patrick's research interests include cellular and organ systems biology with a focus in immunotoxicology and neuroimmunotoxicology. He has held positions as an environmental chemist for the Environmental Laboratory Services Company, biochemical technician for the United States Department of Agriculture, and most recently the position of staff toxicologist at WIL Research Laboratories, LLC.

He has published in peer-reviewed research journals including the Journal of Toxicology and Environmental Health, Toxicological Science, Toxicology In Vitro, and the Journal of Applied Toxicology.

He is also a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the Society of Toxicology.
