Joshua Selsby, Assistant Professor from Iowa State University will present...
"PGC-1α pathway activation as a treatment for Duchenne muscular dystrophy"
Joshua received his Bachelor of Arts from the College of Wooster in 1999, his Master of Arts from The Ohio State University in 2001 and his Ph.D. from the University of Florida in 2005.
My research interest is dedicated toward understanding mechanisms of muscle injury in order to develop appropriate countermeasures and therapeutic interventions. To this end my lab group has been exploring the use of PGC-1 α pathway activation as a therapy for Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Further, we are interested in improving currently available animal models and are working toward the characterization of a novel pig dystrophinopathy model.
