Oral Examination
The oral examination will be conducted by the advisor and the second reader. Occasionally, there may be a third faculty member and/or an outside examiner participating in the oral. The oral examination will cover material discussed in the thesis as well as any fundamental concepts pertinent to the subject area.
Students often begin with a brief presentation of their research poster, followed by a more detailed discussion based on the content of the written thesis. Most sessions are around one hour in length.
