Research Interests

I’m a writer with The New York Times Magazine, where I’ve written features and cover stories about sex and sexuality, gender, youth culture, music, science, and sports. I’ve written two books published by Simon & Schuster and am at work on a third, about my cross-country RV trip with my dog. In addition to The Times, my work has appeared in Details, Sports Illustrated, ESPN the Magazine, Out, The Advocate, Slate, Salon, Boston Magazine, and others. Prior to coming to The College of Wooster, I taught journalism and nonfiction writing at Emerson College and Northeastern University.
