Awards and Professional Memberships

As founding editor of the literary journal Artful Dodge, he was awarded the 1993 Ohioana Library Association's Award for Editorial Excellence.

Publications

• The recipient of four poetry fellowships from the Ohio Arts Council, most recently in 2004-2005
• Published two books of poetry: The Household Gods and Where No One Spoke the Language
• Contributed poems to American Poetry Review, Field, Ploughshares, Salmagundi, and others
• Published a collection of his translations of the poetry and essays of Polish political writer Tomasz Jastrun: On the Crossroads of Asia and Europe
• Other translations appear in Partisan Review, Northwest Review, and Colorado Review

Notes

Bourne is active in contemporary American literature, Polish literature and culture, and writing with a strong sense of place, especially creative nonfiction involving the environment. He was a Fulbright research fellow to Poland in 1985-87.
