A member of the faculty since 1976, Durham is a specialist in the 20th century novel, film studies, and literary theory and criticism. Her research currently focuses on the construction of Paris in twenty-first French and American films, on the work of Diane Johnson, and on the fiction of Arturo Pérez-Reverte.
