Gary DeVault recently retired as Fine Arts Consultant for the Tri-County Educational Service Center, where he supervised the curriculum and instruction of the educational programs in the areas of music, visual art, drama/theatre, and dance. He possesses extensive experience in the fields of music education, arts administration, grant writing, arts academic content standards, arts assessment and arts integration and has served as an arts education consultant, worked with arts organizations and educational institutions at the local, state, and national level. Mr. DeVault has been elected to leadership positions with Ohio Alliance for Arts Education, Ohio Music Education Association, Americans for the Arts, and the Kennedy Center Alliance for Arts Education Network, a national outreach program of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
Mr. DeVault is a graduate of Heidelberg College with a Bachelor of Music Education and holds a Master of Music Education from The University of Akron and certification in supervision, and gifted and talented from Ashland University. He is currently an Adjunct Professor in Music Education and accompanist at the College of Wooster.

Recently retired after twenty years as Fine Arts Consultant for the Tri-County Educational Service Center, where he supervised the curriculum and instruction of the educational programs in the areas of music, visual art, drama/theatre, dance, and other related gifted activities including observing and assisting new and experienced teachers concerning curriculum, materials, and instructional methods in arts education; organizing and/or conducting professional development programs, workshops, and field experiences in the arts; assisting with the development and revision of courses of study and textbook/materials in the arts; and coordinating county-wide fine arts events. Mr. DeVault taught vocal and instrumental music at Southeast Local Schools for 12 years prior to his appointment as Fine Arts Consultant for the Wayne County Board of Education, now Tri-County ESC. He served as Chair of the Kennedy Center Alliance for Arts Education Network, Vice-Chair of the Arts Education Council at Americans for the Arts, Chair of the State Arts Education Advisory Committee, Vice-President of Education for the Canton Symphony Orchestra, President of the Ohio Alliance for Arts Education and was honored with the Governor’s Award of Arts Education in 2011, and the Ohio Music Education Association Distinguished Service Award in 2013. Has co-authored publications for the Kennedy Center Alliance for Arts Education Network, The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Washington, D.C.
