The concept of infinity is difficult for us to comprehend since we live most of our lives dealing only with the finite. How can we come to appreciate and understand the complexity of the infinite? Where do we find the infinite and are there different measures of infinity? We will explore the infinite and its relationship to the finite with an examination of the history and foundations of mathematics. While this seminar does not require any mathematical expertise, it will be important to be willing to critically examine mathematical ideas.
