Description

The OhioLINK Resource Commons (DRC) provides widespread access to images, sounds, video, and other types of media information for the community and the world. Users are able to search and browse for media files via the web by attributes such as date, title, or creator. Thumbnail images and other previews are available for users to view prior to downloading high quality files. URL's for each file will be available to enable the creation of web resources such as online study guides and tutorials. OhioLINK provides virtually unlimited storage space on its servers to allow contributors to submit content of all types from their unique collections. The DMC software allows contributors to upload and catalog digital media files through web browsers. Contributions can be made by departmental libraries, archives, special collections, individual faculty members, or other Ohio institutions such as museums or historical societies. OhioLINK licenses commercial sources to deepen the breadth of material available.
