RAMBI: Index of Articles on Jewish Studies
RAMBI - The Index of Articles on Jewish Studies - founded in 1966 by Dr. Issachar
Joel - is a selective bibliography of articles in the various fields of Jewish studies
and in the study of Eretz Israel and the State of Israel. The Index is based to a
large extent on the collections of the Jewish National and University Library, Jerusalem.
Material indexed in Rambi is compiled from thousands of periodicals, in print and
electronic format, and from collections of articles - in Hebrew, Latin and Cyrillic
script, as well as offprints sent to the Editorial Board by scholars. The database
is updated daily.
As of December 2007 the database contains about 300,000 entries, from about 20,000 different sources.
Rambi appeared in print from 1966 until 2000, vols. 1-50. A retrospective conversion project of the print-only material (vols. 1-28) was made possible by a grant from the Lucius N. Littauer Foundation. With the availability of the entire corpus of Rambi on the web, publication of the printed volumes of Rambi was discontinued.
A Rambi record contains - in the short record view: author, title, bibliographic information and fulltext availability. For any further information - subjects, added authors, responses, fulltext links etc. - the full record view has to be opened. The optional search fields are: subject, author, title, source or keyword from any field.
