Off-Campus Study: Jaipur, India (SIT, Fall 2011)
My off campus experience allowed for total immersion in a culture I knew very little about before arriving. While in India I lived with a host family and traveled around the country to conduct my own research on the social integration of children with disabilities. The time I spent in India allowed me to experience a whole new culture, and by the end of the program I felt like I had a good understanding of Indian society and culture. I had an amazing experience while I was abroad and came to love a culture that was completely new to me. My time abroad has influenced my future plans and furthered my interest in continuing to learn about and experience new cultures.
