International Financial Aid

In order to bring a truly international and diverse group of students to campus, the college provides financial aid for international students. Along with your academic and extracurricular interests, we consider your ability to contribute towards the cost of your education.

International Student Financial Aid Application

To apply for need-based financial aid, international students must submit the International Student Financial Aid Application (.pdf). The Certificate of Finances (.pdf) must also be submitted regardless of financial status. Its important that you fill out this document accurately and completely. Incorrect or incomplete information can negatively affect your offer of admission and award of financial aid.

Types of Financial Aid Available.

International Student Scholarships are awarded at Wooster on the basis of merit, need, or a combination of both merit and need. This scholarship money does not need to be repaid, and is guaranteed for all four years of study as long as the student is making satisfactory progress towards graduation.

Students can find campus jobs that pay an hourly wage. Most student jobs pay US $7.95/hour.  Under US immigration law, international students can work up to 20 hours a week while classes are in session.

Financial Aid Awards

Financial aid awarded to international students is largely based on your family's financial circumstances. Most of our admitted international students will be able to contribute over 50% of the comprehensive cost of attendance. Merit only scholarships are also awarded for outstanding applicants.

We offer a limited number of financial aid awards that exceed $30,000 per year, including a few that cover the comprehensive cost of attendance (tuition, room & board).

We're not able to offer financial aid awards that cover airfare or incidentals once you arrive at the college.
