The Covenant ScholarshipsThe College of Wooster was founded in 1866 by Presbyterians who wanted to do "their proper part in the great work of educating those who are to mold society and give shape to all its institutions." While Wooster is now a fully independent college of the liberal arts and sciences, it has voluntarily chosen to continue its relationship with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). The College believes that one of its important roles is to educate persons who will assume leadership positions in society. With this responsibility in mind, The College of Wooster has established this scholarship program to provide outstanding students the opportunity to study at the College. The Covenant Scholarships are awarded to entering students who are communicant members of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). These awards are made regardless of financial need and are renewable annually. Candidates should demonstrate a record of academic achievement, outstanding involvement and leadership in their church, and a commitment to continuing that involvement at the College. All candidates must apply to The College of Wooster and submit a letter of recommendation from a minister or youth director postmarked by February 15. Nominations or inquiries should be sent to: |
