*Associate Director of Labor Services of Mauritania 1986-1988.

Promoted as Associate Director of Labor Services as a result of superior performance
  • Presided over the mediation and arbitration of major labor disputes.
  • Supervised all regional labor inspectors.
  • Administered at the national level all labor inspections.
  • Advised the labor Minister on labor related issues such as:
    · Wage disputes
    · Union elections
    · Labor legislation
  • Acted as Director of Labor in the Director's absence.
  • Headed national commission to overhaul post colonial labor laws in Mauritania.
  • Represented Mauritania as labor expert in international conferences and negotiations.
*Regional Labor Inspector 1980-1986.
  • Supervised eleven professionals who investigated working conditions and labor relations in industry & business.
  • Conducted negotiations for the resolution of labor disputes.
  • Advised regional governor on labor and employment related issues such as:
    • Regional Employment Policies
    • Labor disputes
    • Prosecuted infractions to labor and employment laws.
  • Served as advisor to labor unions and employers.
