John Siewert, Assistant Professor of Art. B.A. University
of Minnesota, 1985; M.A. and Ph.D., University of Michigan, 1987,
1995. Teaches courses in modern and contemporary art and architecture.
His current research focuses on French Symbolist painting in the
1890s. He has published on a variety of topics in late 19th-century
French and British art and art criticism and is completing a book
on Whistler's Nocturne paintings in the context of Symbolist ideology.
