THE COLLEGE OF WOOSTER Founded in 1866, The College of Wooster is an independent, privately-endowed college of liberal arts and sciences. Wooster has 1,800 students with a faculty-student ratio of 12-1, and has a nationally-recognized Independent Study program. THE SOCCER CAMP The Wooster Soccer Academy will provide the environment where a young man will receive excellent instruction and supervision. The young soccer players will learn, and improve upon their already-established techniques of dribbling, shooting, passing, heading, and tackling, and then learn how to use these techniques in given tactical situations -- Problem Solving Environment (How? When? Why?). OUTSTANDING FACILITIES The Armington Physical Education Center, including an indoor pool, is the focal point for training. And Lowry Center provides the facility for eating and recreation. MEDICAL FACILITIES The medical facilities of the Wooster Community Hospital are within one mile of the College campus in case of any emergency. Each camper is covered by accident insurance. (Each camper must have written permission from a doctor to participate in the camp.) GRADES 4-12 Sessions at the Academy are open to young men who will begin grades 4-12 in 2008. REGISTRATION AND CHECK-OUT Final registration is held between noon and 2 p.m. on the Sunday beginning the week of camp. Check in at the Lowry Student Center on The College of Wooster campus. Room assignments will be made at registration. Check-out will be at 12:30 p.m. on. Thursday. FEE The fee for a one-week session at The Wooster Soccer Academy is $525. This covers everything but the individual's spending money. A $150 non-refundable deposit must accompany the registration form. The balance can be paid at registration time. However, if the balance is paid in full before May 22, 2008, there will be a $50 discount. EQUIPMENT All campers will receive a Soccer Camp T-shirt. Each camper should bring a soccer ball, tennis shoes, soccer shoes, black shorts, socks, and three additional white Tshirts. Please make sure these items are labeled. Each person should also bring sheets, a light blanket and pillow, plus informal clothes to wear around campus. A window fan may be of benefit in warm weather.
