Competing in the NCAA Div. III Championships for the second time in his career, The College of Wooster's Brendan Callahan (South Glastonbury, Conn. / Glastonbury) placed 177th overall (27:46.6) at this weekend's 8K national meet, hosted by Hanover College in Hanover, Ind., on Saturday afternoon (Nov. 22).

It marked the third time in four seasons that Wooster has sent a representative to the national meet, as then-junior Callahan came in 199th in 2001 and Marty Coppola finished 88th in 2000.

The individual winner in the men's race was Josh Moen of Wartburg College with a course-record of 24:34.4, while perennial power Calvin College won the team championship with 48 points.

The women's Division III race also took place at Hanover on Saturday, and Middlebury College was victorious for the third time in five seasons with 135 points, while Missy Buttry gave Wartburg the individual sweep with a first-place time of 20:00.02 in the 6K race.
