Linman 42nd Overall, Wieferich 57th to Pace Scots at All-Ohios
The College of Wooster finished among the top-10 NCAA Division III womens teams at the All- Ohio Intercollegiate Cross Country Championships to highlight the Scots results at the 50th annual meet, which took place at Ohio Wesleyan University on Friday afternoon (Oct. 8). Overall, the Wooster women collected 544 points for ninth-place in Div. III and 23rd of the 39 schools from across the Buckeye State that competed, while the Scot men were 12th among the 19 Div. III teams and 29th overall. Individually for Wooster, sophomore Katie Wieferich ran to a 57th-place finish among the field of 273 participants with a time of 19:51, which was the 10th-fastest time in Div. III. Not far behind was senior teammate Tiffany White, who was 19th in Div. III and 75th overall (20:06). Also scoring were senior Lindsey Dieringer, freshman Nicole Calderone, and senior Erin Jacob, who finished 42nd (20:44), 52nd (21:02), and 55th (21:07), respectively, among the Div. III runners. On the mens side, senior Matt Linman covered the course in 27:19, good for 42nd-place overall (out of 267 total competitors) and sixth in Div. III. Junior Taylor Delhagen crossed the finish line just a few seconds later (27:51), finishing 14th in Div. III and 65th overall. Rounding out the Scots scorers were junior Colin Turner, who took 68th in Div. III (29:48), sophomore Zac Patterson, who was 97th in Div. III (31:29), and sophomore Nathan Malcomb, who placed 109th in Div. III (32:50). Next up for Wooster will be a home tri-meet, the Jim Bean Invitational, this Friday (Oct. 15). |
