Wooster had every opportunity to win the game, as it led through most of the contest. The turning point in the game may have come early in the fourth quarter, when the Scots led 24-21 and had the ball 1st-and-goal from the Allegheny three-yard line. Wooster tried the run the ball into the end zone twice, but were stopped. On third down, Rich Judd threw a pass that Brandon Good appreared to have caught, but it was ruled incomplete, and the Scots had to settle for a field goal.

Despite his late interception, Judd had his best game of the season, completing 21-of-42 passes for 321 yards. On the receiving end of 13 passes, which set a school record, was Good, who finished with 195 yards receiving, also a school record.
While the Scots did not run the ball as well as they had hoped, Jeff Elser still had a strong game, gaining 60 yards on 25 carries, including touchdown runs of 13 and one yard.
Wooster led 17-14 at halftime, thanks to three Ben Arnold field goals and an Elser touchdown reception. Allegheny took a 21-17 lead early in the third on a Jason Francis touchdown reception, before Wooster responded with a touchdown from Elser that gave it a 24-21 lead. Arnold set a school and conference record with four field goals in one game.
The loss dropped the Scots record to 5-1 overall and 3-1 in the North Coast Athletic Conference.
