Game 6 - Kenyon

Seth Mastrine collected one of Wooster's three interceptions and returned it 37 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter.
The Scot football team prepared for its big NCAC showdown at home next week with Allegheny with a decisive 54-7 victory over Kenyon at Gambier.

Wooster (6-0, 4-0) dominated the game in every facet, outgaining the Lords 531-224 in total offense, including an impressive 278-55 edge on the ground.

The Scots put the game away in the first quarter, when they raced to a 19-0 lead. Wooster took only four plays to score on its first possession, which was capped by a Jeff Elser five-yard touchdown run. Just over two minutes later, the Scots scored again, this time on a Brock Wanless one-yard run. Ben Arnold added a 20-yard field goal to make it 17-0, then Kevin Brown blocked a punt that went through the end zone for a safety.

Wooster made it 26-0 when Elser recovered a fumble by Rich Judd in the end zone for a touchown. Judd hit Brandon Good later in the second quarter for a 22-yard touchdown pass that gave the Scots a 33-0 halftime lead.

Kenyon did not pick up its first first down until early in the second quarter and scored its only points of the afternoon on a 50-yard run.

Finding the end zone for the first time this season were Seth Mastrine and David Yokley. Mastrine returned an interception 37 yards for a score in the third quarter, while Yokley caught an eight-yard pass from Judd. Freshman Kyle Mueller added 60 yards rushing and a touchdown in his only series of action.

Another freshman who stood out against the Lords was Demar Jackson, who collected his second and third interceptions of the season.

Judd finished with 235 yards passing, while Wanless gained 111 yards on 20 carries.
