Alli Hall

A day after scoring her first career goal against Earlham, Alli Hall led Wooster with 2 shots against DePauw.

The College of Wooster faced its toughest match up so far this season on Sunday afternoon in DePauw University and wound up losing 4-0 to the visiting Tigers. The Fighting Scots fall to 1-3 on the year, while DePauw improves to 2-1 overall.

DePauw jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first half, as Allison Baccich recorded her first goal of the day at 25:25, followed just four minutes later by another score by Meredith Ellis. Baccich knocked home another score before the break, slapping in a pass from Ellis at 9:35 to give the Tigers the 3-0 advantage at intermission.

Wooster still had no answer in the second half against DePauw as Baccich completed the hat trick with 8:35 left in the game, flipping the rebound up over Scot goalie Anne Leigh for the score.

The fleet-footed Tigers controlled the pace throughout the contest and held the hosts to just six shots, while taking 14 of their own, as well as being one up on penalty corners (6-5).

Freshman Alli Hall managed two shots for Wooster and Leigh played the entire game in goal, tallying six saves.

The Scots look to get back on track this Wednesday, Sept. 14, with a North Coast Athletic Conference contest against Oberlin College on Cindy Barr Field beginning at 4:30 p.m.
