Scot goalie Anne Leigh has stopped 27 of 31 shots faced this season.

The College of Wooster field hockey team couldn't find the offensive touch against the State University of New York at Geneseo Saturday (Sept. 3) afternoon, falling to the Blue Knights in a non-conference affair 2-0. The Fighting Scots fell to 0-2 on the season, while Geneseo evened its season record at 1-1.

The Blue Knights came out firing on the offensive end, hitting the goal for 20 shots total in the game, with 10 coming in each half, while Wooster managed only six shots at the host's goal.

Melissa Walsh put Geneseo in the scoring column just under 10 minutes into the game, netting an unassisted goal at 26:06. The Blue Knights sealed the win with another goal in the second half, this time coming from Sarah Doster off a pass from Laura Henson at the 18:27 mark.

Junior goalie Anne Leigh put forth another impressive showing for the Scots, stopping 14 shots from going into the box. Through the first two games of the season she has made 27 saves.

Wooster will look to get in the win column next weekend, on Saturday, Sept. 10, as the Scots open their conference schedule by hosting Earlham College on Cindy Barr Field at 2 p.m.
