After finally getting a spring tournament in, The College of Wooster continues its schedule with the annual Strimer Memorial Invitational, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University, this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, April 12-13. The 36-hole event will take place at Oakhaven Golf Club’s par-71 course in Delaware, Ohio. Last year, Wooster finished in the middle of the pack, placing ninth of 17 teams.

Last Week: On April 5-6, the Fighting Scots were sixth of 10 teams at Denison University’s annual Ted Barclay Spring Invitational, scoring 317 and 306 for a 623 total at the par-71, 6,559-yard Granville Golf Course.

Senior Pat Lynch (Naperville, Ill. / Marmion Academy) led Wooster each day, firing rounds of 78 and 75 to tie for 21st-place (153), while also counting scores in both rounds were classmates Jason Greenwald (North Bethesda, Md. / Sherwood) and Erik Shoger (Cleveland Hts., Ohio / Cleveland Heights). Greenwald tied for 32nd individually with an 81 and a 76, while Shoger shot back-to-back 79s, tying for 36th. Rounding out the Scots’ starting lineup were senior Jim Ipema (Western Springs, Ill. / Lyons Township), who carded 79 and 81 for a share of 45th-place, and sophomore Tim Sullivan (Bethel Park, Pa. / Seton-LaSalle), who rebounded from an opening 87 with a 76 on day two to tie for 53rd overall.
