For the third time in five seasons, The College of Wooster men's basketball team has started out 4-0 following its 64-53 non-league win late Sunday afternoon at Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pa.

Although the final margin was only 11, Wooster never trailed in the contest - the second time this year it has led wire-to-wire - and was ahead by double-digits throughout the entire second half. In fact, the Scots were ahead by 19 points (60-41) with less than four minutes to play before a late Westminster (1-3) rally that included five points in the final five seconds.

Wooster did not shoot the ball well all night, but gutted out the victory with a balanced attack and stingy play on the defensive which end, which saw it hold the hosts to a .292 field-goal percentage (14-48). The Scots, on the other hand, made 41.8 percent from the floor (23-55), but just 4-of-15 three-pointers (.267) and 14-of-22 from the foul line (.636).

Four Wooster players reached double figures in scoring led by Bryan Nelson's (Kettering, Ohio / Kettering Fairmont) 13 points on 6-of-8 field goals. He also had a squad-high in rebounds with eight, marking the third-straight contest Nelson has led the Scots in both scoring and rebounding.

Joining him were point guard Kyle Witucky (Zanesville, Ohio / Zanesville) with an even dozen points, Blake Mealer (Wauseon, Ohio / Liberty-Benton) with 11 points, and Matt Smith (Elida, Ohio / Elida) with 10.

The Titans were paced by their big man, Greg Foster, who had 15 points, highlighted by a perfect 9-of-9 from the charity stripe, and Craig Bohyer, who came off the bench to contribute 10 points.

Next, Denison University (2-3) visits Wooster to kick-off North Coast Athletic Conference play this Wednesday (Dec. 4) at 7:30 p.m.
