The College of Wooster men's lacrosse team ran into some stiff competition today (April 1), as the visiting-Kenyon Lords prevailed 27-8 at Carl Dale Memorial Field.
Kenyon outscored the Scots 6-0 in the first quarter before the floodgates really opened up. The Lords took a 16-1 lead into the halftime break and then went on a 10-2 run in the third quarter to take a 23-goal lead.
Sophomore Ryan McNally, freshman Ahren Olson, and sophomore Adam Price led Wooster with two goals apiece. Colin Hartnett, a freshman, registered one goal and two assists, while senior Matt Nierenberg scored the other goal. In addition, Olson and freshman Andrew Huggins added single assists.
Scot junior goalie John Park was bombarded by 48 Kenyon shots and managed to come up with 14 saves.
Wooster, which owns a record of 2-5 and 1-2 in the league, will next travel to Oberlin on Wednesday, April 5, at 1 p.m.
