Scot Men's Lacrosse Evens NCAC Record

In a game high on physical play, penalties, and emotion, the College of Wooster men's lacrosse team outlasted visiting Oberlin 13-9 this afternoon (March 29). The Scots, who are now 2-4 overall and 1-1 in the North Coast Athletic Conference, outscored the Yeomen 4-1 in the final quarter to clinch the victory.
Wooster grabbed the early 4-2 lead after the first quarter of play, however, Oberlin shutdown the Scots 2-0 in the second period to tie the game. A three-goal run in the opening three and one-half minutes of the second half gave Wooster a 7-4 lead. Again, the Yeomen fought back and managed to cut the lead to 9-8 by the end of the third.
Leading the Scots to the win was freshman attacker Colin Hartnett, who tops the team in points this season. He registered a season-high seven points on five goals and two assists, while classmate Ahren Olson added a season-high four goals. In addition, sophomore midfielder Brandon Mohr came through with a two-goal, three-assist effort.
Also for Wooster, sophomore midfielder Ryan McNally and sophomore attacker Adam Price contributed goals to the winning cause.
Junior John Park stopped 12 Yeomen shots and won his second career game.
The Scots will host Kenyon in another NCAC game on Saturday, April 1, at 1 p.m.
