Wooster Men's Lacrosse Gets Shelled By Ohio Wesleyan
Entering today's action (April 11), the College of Wooster men's
lacrosse team had reason to be optimistic after winning two of its last
three games. However, any hopes of upsetting nationally-ranked Ohio
Wesleyan were shattered early on, as the Bishops scored early and often en
route to a 28-0 victory.
Ohio Wesleyan, which outshot the Scots 65-17, took a 6-0 lead after
the first quarter and then scored a school-record 13 goals in the second
period of play. The Bishops tallied seven more scores in the third quarter
and two in the fourth, while securing their first shutout since April 11,
1987.
Despite the Ohio Wesleyan offensive onslaught, Scot junior
goalkeeper John Park managed to come up with 21 saves.
Wooster, which dropped to 3-6 overall and 1-2 in the North Coast
Athletic Conference, will attempt to rebound when it hosts Wittenberg on
Saturday, April 15, at 1 p.m.
