Wooster Lacrosse Routed By Tufts 21-6
Box Score
From the opening face-off, Tufts dominated Wooster on March 19 in
Tampa, Fla., as the Jumbos bolted out to a 12-2 halftime lead and went on
to win 21-6.
Things did not even go well for the Scots during the warm-up with
Wooster's leader in the defensive backfield - senior Jason Godwin - going
down with a sprained ankle, leaving a young and inexperienced group to try
and defend Tufts' potent offense.
"The good thing is that Jason's injury is not serious and our young
guys got some experience," said Wooster head coach John McKechnie. "I
thought that the team played much better as the game wore on."
Offensively, four Scot players scored goals led by freshman Colin
Hartnett's three tallies. Senior midfielder Matt Nirenberg contributed
four points on one goal and two assists, while sophomore midfielder Brandon
Mohr and freshman attack Ahren Olson each added one goal.
In goal, Wooster junior John Park was bombarded all game, but he
managed to come up with 12 saves.
