An eight-goal fourth quarter propelled The College of Wooster men's lacrosse team to its second consecutive victory, as Wooster prevailed 15-7 at Marietta College on Saturday afternoon (April 7).

Leading by a 7-4 margin heading into the final period of play, the Scots exploded for eight tallies during the final 15 minutes to improve to 2-5 overall on the season.

Individually, Wooster's youthful attack combination of freshman Mike MacMaster and sophomore Colin Hartnett proved to be too much for Marietta. In fact, the duo outscored the Pioneers by themselves, as Hartnett snapped out of a mini slump with five goals and MacMaster had three goals and five assists.

Others adding multiple points for the Scots were sophomore Brandon Mohr, as well as a trio of freshmen - Hugh Benson, Steve Burton, and Robert Koehler. Koehler registered three points coming on two goals and an assist and Burton found the back of the net twice, while Mohr and Benson recorded one goal and one assist apiece.

For the Pioneers, Peter Kleinschnidt and Mike Masterson led the attack with two goals each, while Alan Henderson dished out three assists.

Defensively, Wooster senior goalie John Park continue his solid play of late, producing 21 saves on 40 Marietta shots, while Peter Sojada was in the line of fire of 48 Scot shots and had 25 saves in the loss.

Wooster will finally make its home debut at Carl Dale Memorial Field on Tuesday, April 10, when it plays No. 9-ranked Ohio Wesleyan University (3-3, 2-0 North Coast Athletic Conference) at 4 p.m.
